Chief Executive Officer Horace Green called the meeting to order.

The minutes of the Board Meeting on June 30 were approved by acclimation.

FINANCIAL
The Treasurer reported that the bank account held the sum of $934.99 as of August 30. A member of the Board inquired as to whether the administration at Camp Royaneh were in possession of any leftover funds from the commemoration for Larry Teshara at Camp Royaneh, such that they might be returned to the Association. Member Hoffman reported he had inquired more than once with the Royaneh administration regarding this possibility, but had never received a definitive answer, and it was therefore unlikely that the Association would ever be able to realize the return of Association donations from the camp.

ROYANEH RECAP
All members agreed that the Royaneh ceremony and lunch was about as successful as could have been hoped. All attendees seemed to enjoy the day, and there were many heartfelt tributes to Larry Teshara. Member Dore mentioned that he had spoken with Association member Rob Cummings, who suggested that he could craft a sign for the new handicraft hut that would identify the building as Fort Teshara. The Board expressed enthusiasm for that idea, and member Dore, said he would follow up with Mr. Cummings.

FUNDRAISING
The board initiated a discussion about methodology for raising funds. It became clear that all of the principals of the organization have little experience in the area of fundraising. The board agreed that for the current year, we would use the quarterly email communication to the
Association as the sole means of soliciting contributions. Secretary/Treasurer Wiener volunteered that he would follow up with a brief communication after Thanksgiving reminding the Association of the upcoming contribution at the end of the year. The Board agreed that the charities that would be considered were the two previously discussed: Root & Rebound Reentry Advocates, and the James E. West Fellowship. It was agreed by acclimation that that final decision of the form of our contribution would be decided at the next meeting in
December.

A brief discussion was initiated regarding the correct designation for checks made to the Association, and it was agreed that the proper nomenclature for donations was Troop 351 Alumni Association.

FUTURE EVENTS
The Board discussed future Association reunions, and it was agreed that until the pandemic subsided, there was no point in considering dates or locations for a reunion.

The Board agreed to meet next on December 29 at 9 am. CEO Green adjourned the meeting.

Prepared by:
Joel D.
